back-to-school resources

Back-to-school time is right around the corner, and it’s time get prepared. We’ve compiled a list of available resources across the state. Just scroll down to your area to view what’s happening in your community.

A few reminders:

  • Now is the time to start setting the daily routine. Start moving bedtimes back now to help your children get into the habit of being better rested and more prepared when the first day of school arrives.
  • If possible, start getting ready to go to bed (brushing teeth, putting on pajamas, reading a bedtime story) an hour before its time to get in bed and go to sleep.
  • Exposure to electronic screens too close to bedtime has been shown to affect our ability to fall asleep. Try to end screen time at least 2 hours before bed.
  • Have conversations with your children about going back to school. Ask what they are looking forward to and what they are nervous about and give them space to talk about it. Helping children mentally prepare will make the transition easier when the first day of school arrives.
